Sarah Darling: A Year In Review

2018 has been a massive year for US Country singer Sarah Darling. Following the breakout success of her independently released album ‘Dream Country’ back in February 2017, Sarah built on her growing popularity in the UK by headlining her first British tour and recording her upcoming LP ‘Wonderland’ across Britain.

Darling kicked off the year in big style by announcing her first ever headlining UK tour. This was the news British country fans had been longing for after taking the singer to their hearts during the past two years thanks to a string of live performances here in Britain. The tour was in support of ‘Dream Country’.

The announcement of the tour came just a couple of months before Darling released her stunning single ‘Wasted’ in March. This song had been a fan favourite for some time after Sarah started performing it live, and the subject matter of living with someone who suffers from alcohol addiction really hit home for many listeners.

During her run of UK tour dates in March, Sarah Darling made new fans every day and even managed to fit in a stellar set at the Country To Country Festival in London. Her easy charm and stunning vocal meant that wherever she performed more and more British country fans were falling in love with her.

Mid April we saw the singing sensation turn her attention to beauty by hosting a live Spring Beauty Special in #YouCamMakeup.This was a fun segment in amongst all the touring and recording. April also saw Darling performing across America for a mini tour.

As May came to an end Sarah announced that her gorgeous new single ‘Diamonds’ would be released in June. This is another song that has a beautiful message about not giving up. June saw the official release of ‘Diamonds’ plus a clutch of live festival dates being announced for the summer.

June, July and August saw Sarah performing across the UK at a number of festivals including BTS Hyde Park, RiverTown Festival, BlackDeer plus many more. As we enjoyed the hottest summer for a number of years, Darling was making wonderful memories every day. The summer months also saw Sarah start work on ‘Wonderland’ and head back to the States for a number of live gigs including a slot at the Country Music Festival.

August saw fans getting a new taste of ‘Wonderland’ thanks to Sarah premiering the pop infused ‘Light It Up’ during her interview on the Women Want To Hear Women podcast.

As the blistering summer came to an end, Sarah headed back to America to perform at the Washington State Fair. The whole event was almost rained off but Darling decided to play Outpost beer tent. September also saw the announcement of Country Music Week in London. It was confirmed that Sarah would be playing two shows at the festival taking pace in October.

October was a really exciting month as not only did Sarah Darling perform at London’s Country Music Week and play a special gig at Night & Day Cafe, she also formally announced details of ‘Wonderland’ and put the LP up for pre-order via PledgeMusic. The album which has been written, recorded and Mastered in the UK will be officially released on March 1st, 2019.

With Christmas on the horizon, November saw the announcement that Sarah would be joining the Cirque Musica tour for 20 dates throughout December. While December brought festive magic thanks to her stunning performances State side she also spread the cheer worldwide with the release of her cinematic black and white video for her breathtaking version of Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’.

December also saw us treated to the first official taste of ‘Wonderland’ with the release of a brand new single ‘Call Me’ which showcased another side to Sarah thanks to its pop infused production and feel good lyrics.
